Buy it, listen to it, and enjoy it. Help from Westerberg and The Incredible Lance Diamond are assets to this release. The Goos show sentimentality without overdoing it.

A lot of people say this album was overproduced and I admit, it was a bit but none-the-less, this is a slamming disc from them. It took a while for it to grow on me but I love it now. Some highlights are We Are The Normal (complete with violins and all), the mid-tempo So Far Away and the riff-heavy, String Of Lies.

"I'm still growing up, my friends are growing up before my eyes." Can't beat that

I don't care what anyone else thinks, but superstar carwash is the best goo goo dolls album i've heard so far out of the the three i have.(the other two being JED and A BOY NAMED GOO) A boy named goo was an extremely well done album, but after i heard superstar carwash i listened to it nonstop for over two months. With songs like, "Cuz You're Gone", "Stop the World", "We are the Normal", and my personal favorite off of the album "So Far Away" there was no way that A BOY NAMED GOO could compete with Superstar Carwash. I also felt that there was much more heart put into Superstar Carwash as well, and i really feel it should have been the breakthrough album for the goo goo dolls.

Yeah.......so this album was "overproduced" I hear. Well I don't really care because this is the the best goo album still and probably will stay that way in my mind. This is the only cd I have that has held it's place in my cd collection. I have a small cd case that holds my ten favorite cds right next to my radio and this is the only goo goo dolls album to never leave there. Sure you can say "A Boy Named Goo" wasn't as overproduced, but you could also say it has a couple weak songs that make it hard not to reach for the skip button 2 or 3 times. Superstar plays easily all the way through, but sometimes I skip domino.......which is kind of the odd song in there because it is too metal for the album. Other than that it is almost flawless in my mind. I probably listen to it almost every day. Which is quite an accomplishment since I have about 200 to listen to. "Hold me up" is another cool one........but I am sure anyone reading this has it already because the people who only liked "Name" have pretty much forgotton about the goo goo dolls and moved on to the verve pipe (who suck). If you don't have "Hold Me Up" it is another must. Another cool band out there now........and starting to get a small amount of notice........is Treble Charger. I think a lot of you may like them if you heard them.

This cd is pretty damn cool. i would recomend it to anyone who is a fan of good music. Lucky Star (track 2) is Da bOmb. it''s like the deep lyrics of name put to kick ass music.
The Goos` first major-label album was WAY overproduced, butnot even the scores of vocal overdubs can ruin the amazingsongwriting here. Paul Westerberg wrote lyrics to thesemi-hit "We Are the Normal".
