Comments for Goo Goo Dolls, A Boy Named Goo

Quick follow-up: I did the song list from a pre-release and some changes were made for the finished album. "Someday" was retitled to "Ain't That Unusual"; "Stand Alone" was removed from the album, and two cover songs, "Disconnected" and "Slave Girl" were added.

"Slave Girl" (cover) is enough reson to buy the album. "Name" is a close second. If you saw them on "John Stewart", you realize that you must schedule around their concerts. i did.... may 1, First Ave, Minneapolis

I loved Superstar Carwash and this album grew on me fast. I especially like "Flat top", "Name", "Impersonality" and "Someday". I'm going to see them for the first time at Irving Plaza in NY. When the album first came out I emailed them at AOL and they replied! I think they're just great and highly underrated.

This album really rocked! I think it was the best of all of them. I think they put more effort in it also.

I think the mother fucker who wrote that they suck should go screw his mother. This band rocks! He should shut his skinny ass up.

There''s not really anything that I can say about this album that will separate my comments from the next goo goo dolls fan. But I''ll say something anyway, The dolls put forth some of their greatest sounds on a boy named goo, and used it as a stepping stone to establish themselves as lyricists, vocalists, and a tremendous rock''n''roll show.
The Goos` fifth (and best) album lacks the overproduction of_Superstar..._, having been produced by Lou Giordano (Sugar,Samiam). Add to that their best batch of songs yet, and you`ve got something truly essential.
