Comments for Grateful Dead, The Grateful Dead

This is a wonderful album to listen to when you think your energy level has been completely exhausted.... sure to pick you right up. And you won't need speed like the boys did during the recording sessions!!!! Frenetic, hyped-up, electric, and the one that started it all. A classic.

After watching them arrive in 1966 and start playing dates with the airplane, quicksilver, and grape, this was a fine debut album, rife with rhythm, and landmark guitar licks. Let us take a moment to remember pigpen.
Good early psycheldlic timepeace. It didn`t at the time, and does not reflect the way the Dead sound. Shows earlyblues and folk influences & contains 2 interesting originalsongs - "The Golden Road" and "Cream Puff War." "Viola LeeBlues" is the best track here.
