Comments for Harding, John Wesley, Why We Fight

E-MAIL: montana@cis.cisnet.com
The depth of Wes's cultural insight here is unbelievable. It never lets up, from song to song, the themes and music stay fresh. I am wondering, however, if anyone else considers "Ordinary Weekend" a religious song. I may be crazy, but the story shares some semblance to the Crusifixion. If anyone ever reads this, I hope you respond . . .

"Hitler''s Tears" is one of the most moving songs I have ever heard, while "Kill the messenger" is one of the most rockin''. Wes lets all his talent show through from slow moving folk ballads to powerful thought-provoking satire.
This is Wes` third studio album, a self-proclaimed "experimentin folk noir." The songs are more mellow and acoustic thanthose on any of his other albums, and his dark humor showsthrough, especially on songs like "Ordinary Weekend" and"Where the Bodies Are." In my opinion, it`s his second bestalbum, after the first "It Happened One Night."
