Comments for Harket, Morten, Wild Seed

Wild Seed is quite good. Spanish Steps is the best track on the album. Los Angeles has a wonderful melody, yet message is confusing. Tell me what you see is also well laid out. You'll catch yourself humming it after hearing it. Christmas Card is too bitter. I have been an a-ha fan since 1985. I'm 26 years old, and I think Morten Harket can find a better label for his music. He should find one that will publicize his work. A-ha hs produced wonderful since their popular, Hunting High and Low album, yet most of the U.S. does not even know they still exist. Morten may not have written much of the previous music, but he has a wonderful voice has proven he can perform. You are correct about Savoy. The only tracks worth listening are 1-3.

unlike the previous comments, Mary Is Coming by SAVOY is a great album...it rocks from beginning to end. Wild Seed is also a great album, different style, but still worth every penny.

Morten's solo career takes up basically where a-ha left off with "Memorial Beach," unlike Paul Waaktaar's "Savoy" solo album. Savoy is more grunge-pop, while "Wild Seed" is more melodic and in the vein that Sting seems to be taking these days, only better. Oddly enough, "A Kind of Christmas Card" starts off the album in a strange direction. It brings to mind a Bowie/Queen hybrid, with the emphasis on Queen, if you like that sort of thing. (I do not.) But the rest of the album is more consistent, albeit a little ballad-heavy. But if it has to be ballad-heavy, it doesn't get much better than this. "Los Angeles," "Ready to Go Home," and "Spanish Steps" are gorgeous. "Brodsky Tune" shakes things up a bit with an intense and exotic melody. "Stay" is probably the most commercial thing on here.

This is a high-quality album by an artist that hasn't really found his niche (or record label) yet. Wild Seed is the direction he needs to follow, which, as I hear it, is away from the commercialized synth-stuff of a-ha. It is quite difficult finding a copy but certainly well worth it. It remains to be seen whether his forthcoming Norwegian album will have any listener-ship outside of his home country, and I am curious as to how easy it will be to find anyhow.

"Wild Seed" is a great album and really worth to listen to ! I wish more people to have a chance to listen to the album, I'm sure they would enjoy it ! "Spanish Steps", "Lay me down tonight", "Wild Seed", "Ready to go home" are wonderful... Also the rest is so much interesting ! MORTEN is a real singer !

Though it was hard to find this cd, and even harder to find Mortens singles (expecially "Heavens not for saints", it think Morten has done an alright job on this cd. Dont get me wrong, but there are only about two songs I can listen to. "Half in love and half in hate" is byfar the best solo song he''s done. "Stay" is another song that blows you way. But the real question is, where can I get "Heavens not for saints"?
Morten`s former bandmate, Paul Waaktaar-Savoy, has just released a new album as well, which all a-ha fans should avoid. Morten`s `Wild Seed` is by far worth the tediouseffort of locating a copy.
