Comments for Hatters, The, The Madcap Adventures of the Avocado Overlord

Not since the heyday of the Allman Brothers Band has harmony guitarworked so well and rocked so hard. These guys are often lumped inwith Widespread Panic, Blues Traveler, and Phish, but are trulyone of a kind, combining witty lyrics, great songwriting, and virtuisticguitar into a terrific blend that produces one of the best rock albums tocome along since Pearl Jam`s "Ten", if not the best. There are greatballads ("For Tomorrow", "I Could Be The One", and "When I Write My LastSong), terrific, cathartic rock songs ("Sacrifice", "Sip Of Your Wine(featuring John Popper on harmonica), & "You Ain`t Comin` Home", and AllmanBros. quality jamming and slide ("Bring That Wagon Round", "Madness of theGreen", "Found With Your Drawers Down", and "The Last Walt"). I can`t recommend this album enough and almost always play something off of itor their first album (Live: Thunderchicken!) on my show on WESU.
