Comments for Hawkwind, Zones-Stonehenge

E-MAIL: simon.grundy@azlan.co.uk
Not got this(I have the tracks on seperate LP''s) , but as stated some of this comes from the Stonehenge live LP featuring Ginger Baker. This LP was originally released about 1984 with the wonderfull title of This is Hawkwind-Do Not Panic. This was a single Lp, with 2 more tracks than listed here (Angels of Death and Shot Down in The Night), plus a 12 inch single, recorded at Stonehenge in 84, featuring 2 songs, also not here(Stonehenge Decoded and Watching The Grass grow). However my mate Graham swears the Ginger Baker tracks, were actually recorded at a gig in London, so the Stonehenge link, certainly on this version of recordings is questionable. In any event, as far as this release is concerned, the tracks from Psi Power onward, are all I am commenting on, and they are excellent.
This is the Zones album, with most of the live Stonehengealbum added to it. With Huw Lloyd Langton on lead guitar,so expect the fiery more metallic edge of Hawkwind, butthere is lots of trippy synth stuff too. Ginger Baker playson some tracks. The better half would be a very goodalbum, and almost 40 minutes long.
