Comments for Hawkwind, It Is The Business Of The Future To Be Dangerous

E-MAIL: g.j.pierce@aberdeen.ac.uk
Apart from the techno/ambient stuff the album is full of references to past glories. Calvert''s vocals are sampled and the two original songs are (good) revisions of old songs. "Letting in the past" was "Looking in the future" from "Church.." and some of the lyrics were first used in "Assault & Battery part 1" from "Warrior on the edge of time". "The camera.." is a re-write of "Living on a knife edge" from "Sonic attack", itself based on "Processed".
I almost called this "techno" because so much of it isinstrumental rhythms laid over a bed on synths - trancyspacy stuff. Of course, the bits with Dave Brock`ssignature distorted riffy guitar might turn off those intopure techno, and it uses real drums. I like this album alot. Brock and Alan Davey (bass) shine.
