Comments for Hawkwind, Live chronicles

A truly strong live album (CD) available on a shorter budget version (English) or a double CD (Canadian). This is the Hawkwind album the novice should start with. Powerful hard rock, excellent live sound and the racing guitars of Brock and Lloyd-Langton.
Line-up: Dave Brock, Huw Lloyd Langton, Harvey Bainbridge,Alan Davey, Danny Thompson.A very good live album, showcasing the "Chronicles" set. Formy taste it isn`t the best of their live albums: the styleis pretty much unrelenting heavy metal. Plus points includethe presence of "Dreaming city" and "Moonglum", two of HuwLloyd Langton`s songs (why weren`t they on the studio album?),and the way in which old classics are woven into the story line. This was a double album released in a single sleeve. It wasre-issued on CD in the UK by Castle (CCSCD 321). A flaw wasalways the absence of Michael Moorcock`s poems and the livetracks previously used on (Flicknife) singles. However, allthis material was restored on the double CD re-issue onGriffin (GCDHA-0136-2).a
