Comments for Hawkwind, Choose your masques

E-MAIL: jamesrichmond@orgaz.co.uk
"Coose your masques, the ranks are forming, Choose your masques, the day is dawning, Choose your masques, and choose the side that you'll be on, learn the words of your new song, the battle will be long... ...so long" Brilliant stuff.

Definitely the first Hawkwind purchase, the rock side of space rock. All well blended mixture of rock; choose your masques, and arrival in utopia, with space elements dream worker and void city. Shame about Silver Machine goes disco though

Contains the timeless classic Arrival in Utopia. Huw Lloyd-Langton at his searing best on this. Also the wonderfully bizarre Utopia. Production perhaps a bit weak at times, but a worthy addition to any ones collection.
The best of the RCA period albums. The same basic band ofBrock, Bainbridge and Griffin, with Nik Turner, Ian Holm andPascoe Brock guesting. Linda Steele co-writes some tracks. The re-make of "Silver machine" is one of the weaker tracksbut was released as a single (RCA 267, coupled with a re-makeof "Psychedelic warlords". Apart from "Choose your masques"itself (tuneless), the rest is excellent, not least HuwLloyd-Langton`s two songs "Solitary mind games" and "Waitingfor tomorrow".
