Comments for Hendrix, Jimi, South Saturn DeltaE-MAIL: chundun Ooops! When I said "into Jimi's from 1967-1970" I was referring to his career. Sorry about the typo folks. :(E-MAIL: lpaig@hs1.uwmin.ac.uk This one rocks!!! It demonstrates the raw working environement that surrounded Jimi, and the genius and creativity resulting from these recording sessions. Alan Douglas should've thought of this in the first place, instead of chucking together what he deemed were the best of what was left over, and presenting it sterile under the guise of voodoo soup. Having been digitally re-mastered from original first generation masters, the sound is a marked improvement over Douglas' heinous recordings from 2nd generation source tapes. Long live the Authorized Hendrix Family editions!!!E-MAIL: joe@aol.com One of Hendrix''s best works ever! Thank god Alan Douglas is no longer in control of Jimi''s music. I can hardly wait until the planned release of more Band of Gypsys material by Hendrix''s family later this year. This is an extraordinary compilation covering the insights into Jimi`s from 1967-1970. Featured are many new and alternate takes that were never released until now, includingexcellent renditions of Bob Dylan`s "All Along The Watchtower" and "Drifter`s Escape"...."Little Wing", "Sweet Angel", and a more complete version of "Pali Gap" which butcher Alan Douglas bungled on Voodoo Slop. This album also fills the void of tracks that were on V.S., but were missing on"First Rays Of The New Rising Sun".Comments supplied by users do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Roadkill Consulting, Inc. |
