Comments for Hornsby, Bruce, Bruce Hornsby And The Range The Way It Is

E-MAIL: grs2@ukc.ac.uk
The original album, and arguably the best. Although it's close between this one and Scenes from the Southside, The band's 1986 debut is stunning to say the least. From the energetic opening of "On the Western Skyline" to the final fading chords of "The Red Plains", there's not a moment wasted on the album. Other highlights include "Mandolin Rain", which is without doubt one of the best slow ballads of the Eighties, and "Down the Road Tonight", which uses a swing rhythm to great effect. If you want an album which will remind you of how good music used to be in the Eighties, this is the one!
