Comments for Hyman, Phyllis, I Refuse To Be LonelyThis is Phyllis Hyman`s last album to date. It was relasedshortly after she died of suicide. This album can be a bitdepressing for some. Especially if you can relate to the issues. "I Refuse To Be Lonely" often makes me cry. This album deals with heartache, pain, fustration, anger andfear. However it is also inspirational and healing. I reallycan relate to this album. It seems that all Phyllis Hymanwanted was to be loved and appreciated for who she was. Unfortunately she felt that no one cared. I think that she was driven to her death by the people who took advantage ofher during her life. Anyway get this album. It is a musthave if you are a true blue Phyllis Hyman fan.michal_a_video@yahoo.com This album, as all of her material with Philadelphia Intl., is generally excellent. From the songwritting to the production, one can say that this is almost a perfect album. Unfortunately it is a little sad, especially since it was released after her death. On all of the songs, Phyllis sings from deep in the heart. Her voice is strong over the varied production. Some songs are heavily synthesized; others feature a full orchestra and other live instruments. These songs are the best. In my opinion, there are no weak points on the album. My favorite songs are "Waiting for the Last Tear to Fall", "Why Not Me", and "Give Me One Good Reason To Stay". The last song-listed last on the album no less- can be taken as a prophecy to her taking her life. Believe me, if her many fans around the world had the chance, we could give Phyllis many reasons. She may have felt lonely, but there were-and still are-many admirers out there. She sang well; that is one reason she should have stayed.Comments supplied by users do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Roadkill Consulting, Inc. |
