Comments for Idha, Melody Inn

I have to admit that I first listened to the album because I thought Idha was cute, but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the album itself. If you like mellow, folk-tinged rock, this may be the album for you. Check out "All My Loving," my personal favorite from this album.

Hi,I''m Swedish not Norwegian LOVE IDHA
Beautifully mellow first album from Norwegian songbird Idha Ovelius who has the voice of an angel and the looks of a model.

I, too, purchased this CD because I thought Idha was quite attractive. Nice, melodic acoustic-based folk-pop with breathy, atmospheric-sounding vocals. Good production here. I would have preferred more piano and less organ, but that's a small gripe. "Stockholm" is a highlight for me. By the way, most of the songs are credited to Idha herself.

This is a rare gem of a record. It is strangely haunting and should only be listened to among candles and a beautiful scene. Ms Ovelius has a sweet and soulful voice and the swedish accent set amongst a country folk atmoshphere makes for a very unique sound. The album is refreshingly non contrived. The sound in some respects reminds me of the whole Matt Johnson/The The experience, so if you like that you will like this. One track has a certain Cat Stevens type quality....above all though the record is highly original and a very interesting. Unlike most albums this one gets more interesting with each additional listen. "All My Loving" is the classic song on the record. Where did Idha go and why did she stop making records...that is a very sad thing....we need more of her spirituality in todays music.
