From a french fan, This album meens for me a new style of science of tales, speeches ... the new style of old fashions is the mental confort for the new world.

Laurie Anderson is one of history's greatest storytellers, and this album proves it. First listen to the album, then read her book "Tales from the Nerve Bible" to fill in all the details. Alternately humorous, frightening, and thoughtful, her stories will leave you a different person than the one who hadn't heard them.

"This is from my new book, this is what happened on my tour, this is my eerie delivery, this is the terrifying headline we all read this morning...did I mention my new book?" Hm. This CD disappointed me. Laurie here seems more like a lounge act of self-references than the avant martian goddess I came to love on _United States_ and _Home of the Brave_. Not her best. Worth the time you''ll spend listen- ing to it, but not much more.
All spoken word, Lauries infamous stories, with some minimalisticbacking music, synth, samples, etc. Excellent.
