Comments for Jeff Healey Band, The, See The Light

E-MAIL: gary_long@mmacmail.jccbi.gov
Jeff Healey used this album to set the stage for widely acclaimed popularity. "See The Light" proves Jeff's guitar mastery which is almost unbelievable regarding the way he holds the instrument. The track Confidence Man gained a lot of air play, but Angel Eyes truly propelled Healey to the top of the charts. Most of the album portrays the tightness necessary in a three-piece arrangement with a strong flavor of southern rock mixed with rhythm and blues. The cover of ZZTop's Blue Jean Blues hints to blues behind Healey's guitar work and definitely focuses on his improvisational abilities. See The Light, the last track, puts the icing on the cake for the album, providing strong guitar emotion to the likes of Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan. ***1/2 out of *****
