The album cover depicts many of the elaborate costumes that Elton had worn in his many concerts prior to release of this album.

NEVER underestimate Elton's staying power. A fine comeback.

A very good album - hard to find, but worth it; esp. Mona Lisa's...

This album had a great impact on my childhood. The first "new" release I ever bought as a seven year-old, "A Word In Spanish" was a hit in my grade 3 classroom. I once had a mean bully singing it with me. He then liked me all of a sudden. He bought a copy of REG, and he was addicted. I was able to get a promo poster because I agreed to take all the tape off it in the store!! It''s gone now. I miss it. Anyway, the problem with this album is that the songs don''t have common thread at all, but they seem to go togther in a strange way. Get it on vinyl because you can see all the outfits up close and in detail--just one more reason to bring the medium back.
The title derives from Elton`s true name, Reginald Dwight; Pete Townshend plays guitar on "Town of Plenty"
