Comments for Joplin, Janis, I Got Dem Ol' Kozmic Blues Again Mama!

This album actually came out in '69; she performed much of this material @ Woodstock.

Janis''s finset studio alub, by far. The songs are so much more touching and gripping than the ones on Pearl and certainly Cheap Thrills. The overall R&B sound of the band really favors Janis''s vocals and is truly superb. The most outstanding track on the album is the phenomenally heartwrenching Little Girl Blue. I just want to cry every time I hear it.
Featuring Big Brother`s Sam Andrew on guitar and a brass trio on many songs, "Kozmic Blues" is a good but inconsistent album. Two of the tracks, "Try" and "One Good Man" are stupendous but others like "Maybe" do not represent Janis`s best work.
