Comments for Joplin, Janis, Big Brother And The Holding Company

A truly strange collection of songs from clasic 60`s pop (Caterpillar) to dense psychadelia (Light is Faster Than Sound) to country (Easy Rider) to blues (Down On Me) to beat influenced lyricism (All is Loneliness, Blindman). It`s a fun album, but nowhere near as good as the later stuff. Down On me, Call On Me, Women Is Losers, and Bye Bye Baby are the best tracks. It`s currently (10/97) out of print in the US, but there`s occasionally talk of a CD issue. It has been released on CD in Japan, and is available as an overpriced import.
