Comments for Anthrax, Stomp 442

Great album, but there are like 3 boring songs. I myself like Sound of White Noise better.

This is the best Anthrax album by far...

Certainly Anthrax has already proved to be the fastest speedmetalband on the earht, but with Stomp 442 they show their intelligence in songwriting and soul instead of pumping notes

Well, it sure is fast and heavy. Intelligent? Well, not by Persistence of Time standards. There are a lot of cliched songs on Stomp, like Random Acts of Senseless Violence, King Size, Riding Shotgun, In A Zone, and Drop the Ball. But, Anthrax makes up for it with a few shining moments like Fueled, Nothing, and Bare. No thanks to Dimebag Darrell of Pantera who 'helped out' on a few songs. Not as good as White Noise.

When I first got this, it was an awesome album but as you listen to it more and more, you stop and ask yourself, why not just re-release White Noise. By all means, its a good album but it breaks no new ground. I think the most different song on the album would be the acoustic ballad "Bare". Other than that (w/ the exception of "American Pompeii"), the album isn't their best effort.

THE ALBUM WAS TOO WEAK. The last song sounded like a country music song. The band has lost its aggressiveness. They are too old. Bring back the Old ANTHRAX, PLEASE

These people that don't like this album are full of it. It kicks ass!
I admit, "Drop the Ball" sucks.
Long live Anthrax

Stomp 442 has the greatest guitar sound ever. The chugging aggression of Fueled still gives me chills every time I hear it. In A zone is one of my favorite all-time Anthrax songs--great riff and KILLER vocals. This album is as good as it gets, and Anthrax has proven that they are the greatest metal band of all time. Jason

At first, I was disappointed, and even now I don't like it as well as "White Noise," but this is a tremendous album which continues to grow and open up with repeated listenings. Great for driving, great for channelling aggression, just plain great; my particular favorites are "American Pompeii" and "Random Acts of Senseless Violence." Wish I knew what the hell "Bare" is supposed to be about, though. If anyone has any current info on the band, please let me know.

this dropped the standard between 'sound of white noise' and 'volume 8' but its still ok...maybe a bit too ambitious at this point in their recording career
