Comments for Kajagoogoo, White Feathers

E-MAIL: europa@netcomuk.co.uk
The first album by the original five piece line up in Kajagoogoo. About five months after it''s release in Great Britain, the lead singer Limahl was sacked by the other four members. They carried on as Kajagoogoo having three more hits in the U.K. and one minor hit as Kaja ( Shouldn''t Do That). The album White Feathers when listened to is immediately identified as a "first album". Panned by members of the group as being "soulless", the album was rush released in Britain to cash in on the success of Too Shy, which was a great pop song and one of the best synth pop songs from the 80''s. The two follow up singles (Ooh to be Ah & Hang On Now) were also both strong singles. Unfortunately neither could match the success of Too Shy. Kajagoogoo did progress musically particularly with 2 of the singles from the "Islands" album. The Lions Mouth was a totally different sound, as was the extremely Funk sounding "Turn Your Back On Me" which was a number 2 dance hit in the US. Sadly their last, and best single "Shouldn''t do That" barely scraped into the British chart, and after the lukewarm response to their last album "Crazy People''s Right To Speak" they decided to split up. Missed?, yeah they are.
Originally only on LP/Cassette, this album has been releasedon CD by One Way records. It`s `80s pop! The album, in retro-spect is rather good, with some fine catchy material & excellentmusicianship (particularly Nick Beggs - a respected bass player && Chapman Stick player. `Too Shy` went straight to no.1 in 1983
