This is the sort of song that made Kansas famous in the first place.E-MAIL: kst159@airmail.net Yes, Icarus is truly a brilliant song. It is also a great example of how Kansas was truly "ahead of thier time" and still are today- maybe especially today. What happended to this kind of Rock? I wish they would get back together with all the original members, including Robby Stienhart.E-MAIL: cbp4@cornell.edu Well, Robby Steinhardt rejoined the band in 1997...E-MAIL: swoncho@uswest.com Not one of my favorite Kansas albums. I''m in the minority, but I can''t stand "Icarus". I can''t get past the vocal harmonization attempts between Robby & Steve. On the up side, it contains a couple of outstanding tracks --- "The Pinnacle", and "All The World". ATW is probably one of my 5 or 6 favorite Kansas songs. Great instrumental section. Kansas` third album is a quick followup to Song For America.Shows great songsmanship, but the music has some slight modernizingtwist to some of the songs. Mysteries and Mayhem and The Pinnacleare two songs strung together as one story, the first being the introduction to the second. Very good album, but not as good as Song For America.rico1rules@aol.com rico1rules@aol.com excellent album!!!!!!!! Livgren and walsh were the lennon/mccartney writers at the time.every song a masterpiece!Comments supplied by users do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Roadkill Consulting, Inc. |
