Too bad this album didn't get much airplay. Alot of great songs never get to see the light. Saw Kansas live at a small venue. Very energetic! They put on awesome show.

Without question, this is the most underrated and overlooked Kansas release of them all. And it's a crying shame, too, for this is a brilliant album from start to finish. While many feel Steve Walsh hit his peak during "Power", his voice is still strong, yet subtle, throughout. The musicianship, the production, and the ATMOSPHERE that is engendered from this recording is truly remarkable---finally, a "concept album" that works! Why "The Preacher" did not become a major radio hit---and a Kansas staple at live shows---is beyond me; this song rivals the best that Kansas ever wrote to date! This is the one Kansas album you can put on the stereo, lay back, and get into a nice frame of mind---it "takes you places", so to speak.

A very interesting Kansas album which is much moremainstream oriented than most of their other work. Theinfluence of Steve Morse is very powerful, both in compositionand performance. Ghosts, The Preacher, Rainmaker, and BellsOf St. James are all top-notch songs.
