Comments for Kansas, PowerE-MAIL: 76062.3543@compuserve.com If Kansas had only done more albums in this vein. One of my top ten favorite albums. I had great hopes for them after that, but to no avail.E-MAIL: lwillis@mc.net In my humble opinion, the best Kansas album since the groups heyday in the latter '70s. New member Steve Morse is without question the undisputed maestro of rock guitardom, and that is Not an opinion (five straight Best Overall Guitarist awards in Guitar Player magazine polls)! His contribution to the albums commercial success was never acknowledged, however. Sometimes I wonder if the reviewers even bother to listen to the recordings they attempt to dissect. Probably the best illustration of Morses influence can be heard on the track "Silhouettes In Disguise". A real flamethrower!E-MAIL: mooky@altavista.net Certainly not one of Kansas'' better efforts, unless you enjoy pompous guitar work, then Steve Morse is your man! Not the `typical` Kansas album, but a very good album, justthe same. No violin here, but some excellent guitar by SteveMorse, and great vocals by Steve Walsh. Taking In The Viewis a very interesting song, as is Three Pretenders. Can`tCry Anymore is among my all-time favorite ballads, and isthe only song that received any notable radio airplay.Comments supplied by users do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Roadkill Consulting, Inc. |
