Comments for King Crimson, RedE-MAIL: ajax@postoffice.ptd.net Fripp found the "muscular stance" that Bruford and Wetton only showed during live performances before. Brilliant album!E-MAIL: bosse.ströberg@expressen.se Does anyone know the story behind the end of Starless? Do they run out of tape?E-MAIL: mcfarsc@springfield.grumman.com Side 1 is great metallic prog-rock, distinguished by Bruford's inventiveness underneath of the guitars' metallic sheen. Great stuff. The full-length "Starless" must be heard - a fantastic composition which really deserves its full length.E-MAIL: BurntGiraf@aol.com This album was way ahead of it's time. "Starless" is arguably Crimson's best song.E-MAIL: tsymeo@logos.cy.net A masterpiece of prog-rock, and the best KC album after Court of the Crimson King. Providence is the only one you can complain about, but after a few listens it grows on you. A near-perfect album. 10/10E-MAIL: borthsw@hotmail.com E-MAIL: borthsw@hotmail.com The closing jam in Starless is Progressive rock's most blistering moment. That they never surived to make a follow up is our loss. Only the live Great Deciever stuff got closer to what they should be best remembered for.E-MAIL: rcudney@ix.netcom.com Besides all the things already mentioned, another highlight is Bill Bruford's drumming. This album is probably his best performance of the '70s.E-MAIL: ty@e-corp.com the last of the 3 greatest kc albums. "Providence" seems like a lackluster improvisation, but the songs with vocals more than make up for it ("Fallen Angel", "One More Red Nightmare", and "Starless"). and "Red" is the token "kick- ass" song of kc''s repertoire. for my kc album to play at 3am, i''d have all of Larks'' Tongues in Aspic, "Fracture" from Starless and Bible Black, and "Starless" from this album. Perhaps their greatest... Guests include David Cross, MelCollins, and Ian McDonaldComments supplied by users do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Roadkill Consulting, Inc. |
