Comments for King Crimson, BeatE-MAIL: ajax@postoffice.ptd.net Beat showed a futher tightness of the Fripp, Levin, Belew, Bruford generation Crimson on a very "pop" sounding CD.Pop that is as far as King Crimson can get close to.E-MAIL: mcfarsc@springfield.grumman.com This was kind of a disappointment as it's so like their first LP (Discipline) but with a different color cover and some different lyrics. What made it worth at least a few bucks were the more mature tracks which did something different from what they had already done (specifically, "Sartori" & "Requiem"). "Waiting Man" was kind of interesting too.E-MAIL: ty@e-corp.com it's almost like this is to Discipline what In the Wake of Poseidon was to In the Court of the Crimson King. There are a few moments that don't seem like retreads, such as "Requiem" (just love that frippertronics!), and "Waiting Man" (Bill Bruford doing a worldbeat-type thing). but "Heartbeat" has that backwards sounding guitar again (gotta love that)!E-MAIL: steals3rd@AOL.com Much more accessible than Discipline, and memorable, for me. Have both CDs, and listen to this one much more often. Love "Satori in Tangier"! I read that they had a video for "Heartbeat"I personally give this album a grade of AComments supplied by users do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Roadkill Consulting, Inc. |
