Rest assured, you are not the only one to hear of this band! You may be the only one able to listen to the album! I have been pining away for this album for a long, long time and was actually beginning to think that I did not have the name of the band and/or tha album right. Thank you for the vote of confidence. Now if I could only find it in a record store...... Also good is their second album, Beach. The track "Partyitis" is a great tune! Robert "Rob-Bob" Ceglinski

I had a roommate in college who had a tape of it. Took me a few years, but I finally decided to get it at a record convention. It is out of print for a long time, so cost me a bit, but it brings back memories. Great for in the car with the top down.

Great, great song from the 80s. The only thing I have to add is that you can find part of the "song" (it's actually "The Beat Goes On/ Switchin' To Glide") on "The Best of 80's Rock by Priority Records. How much did the album cost anyway??

Definitely heard of the band! I personally think the whole album is great (besides, it brings back lots of memories!). I had a copy of the vinyl, but lost it! Don't know why Elektra doesn't re-release on CD. If anyone knows where I can get a decent copy of the vinyl, drop me a line!

I'm surprised to see how many Kings fans that there are. I thought that I was one of 2 people who loved this album. My friend and I used to drive around in his car listening to it during the summer. I finally got my own copy on tape and every time I hear it, it brings back memories. Those were the days. PS - I will never truely be happy until The Kings Are Here is released on CD.

The song "this beat goes on/switchin'" is available on CD on "best of the 80's" compilation album by Priority Records!

I have heard of this album. In fact, I have this album in my collection. And, I found a cassette version of the album. I hope there is a CD version soon.

Great Song!!! I can't believe this group didn't make more records after listening to this over and over again. I searched for about 2 years before I finally found who sang it, but it was well worth it once I got the album.

Allright! So we all agree that this is one of the greatest albums/songs in modern rock history! Just don't hold your breath waiting for the CD version: contractural squabbles with the dimwits over at warner/elektra are keeping it in the vaults. Meanwhile, search out their latest release (yes, it's on CD) entitled "Unstoppable". The band is still together, and sounding better than ever as we begin 1997! You'll catch them live most frequently around the Toronto area, although a few successful club dates in Chicago and Milwaukee will likely guarantee a return to that area in the spring/summer of '97...

THE SINGLE got lots of airplay in '80 in Northeast Arkansas, where I was a senior in HS at the time. In fact it's one of my predominant memories from the time. There was never any doubt who did the song as they almost always announced the artist around there in those days. I never forgot it & bought the LP new when I was an Arkansas State University freshman ( Jonesboro, where it was easy to find). Still have it in mint & listen often.

This is so incredibly bizarre! I have searched the net, the music stores, etc. to find out anything and everything I can about this band and how/if I can get copies of their "Are Here" and "Amazon Beach" albums on CD. I have emailed Elektra numerous times (I never got a response), and I was sure that I was the only person on the planet who was interested in getting copies of these great albums on CD. (I have "Are Here" on album and a copy of "Amazon Beach" on cassette.) Too bad Elektra couldn't read some of the comments which have been written. Sounds like, from their point of view, there's some money to be made. I saw these guys play an outdoor concert on Vancouver Island in the '80s (at a racetrack). What a show! If anyone knows ANYTHING about how I might get a copy of these albums on CD, PLEASE take a moment to email me!! Oh, and by the way, Unstoppable isn't that hard to get, and it ROCKS too.

GOOD NEWS for all of you who are waiting for "The Kings Are Here" to be released on CD. It looks as though it may be happening shortly, I spoke to Mr. Zero and he is working feverishly to get it done. Elektra finally did the right thing and now Mr. Zero and the boys can finally give us rabid Kings fans what we've wanted for years. But do keep in mind that they have newer product out and will hopefullly have brand new product out soon. I've heard the new demos and they blew me away, some things just get better with age. Lee

People! I just found a copy of the "Kings are Here" on cd. It took long enough though. Good ole Sam Goody was able to get me a copy. Tell me that Switchin To Glide is one of the best songs ever? Only one song beats this, Bat Out of Hell - Meatloaf. The Kings rock, and live forever!
