How could this have been released in '65 (if this album even exists) when the song "Sunny Afternoon" was not released (or even recorded until '66????

What? Never heard of this "album". I have been buying Kinks records since '65, (yup, I am THAT old!) Never saw anything like this on the market. Song wasn't even recorded in '65......

I believe that the "Marble Arch" label may have something to do with Canada, making this a type of Canadian release, now I am not sure of it, but this may be why this seems sort of obscure. By the way, at one of the Mega Music-Computer-Electronic stores, they had a "Kinks Greatest Hits, Vol. 2" in the mark down albums. This may be a form of this release, but I am not sure. The songs are good, alot never released on albums (I think). You may wish to be on the look out for this.

This album was issued in I think '67, it had a fine sixties picture on the cover of the group in a multi coloured flash USA(?) car. Tracks included Dead End Street, Dedicated Follower Of Fashion, Sitting On My Sofa,I'm Not Like Anybody Else and Sunny Afternoon. It was a budget album and did in fact get in the album charts at the time.

I grew up buying Kinks albums and never heard of Sunny Afternoon. The reason is that it was a UK press and issue and was not release to the US, until much later as an import. There are loads of the LPs being sold on MusicStack and Gemm music sites. The date of pressing varies from 1966 to 1967. If you go to one of the web sites mentioned you can see what the LP cover looked like. The four band members sitting in and atop a Cadillac convertible painted psychodelic colors. I was Kinks fan long before a Beatles fan and hope this may help answer as to why we in US have never heard of the album until now. Please check out the web sites mentioned. Also we may on ocassion find one being sold on eBay. But you will find that the seller(s) are from the UK. The album was a mono release.
