One of the usual unfortunate commercial flops in the Kinks career. At the time, this LP desrved high chart success. The deliacate Ring The Bells stands out strongly, wistful, yet strong..great rocker with their interpretation of Milk Cow Blues. Yet another Kinks classic that deserved far more attention at the time of release and now.

This is the album that got me addicted to the KINKS - I was 16 at the time and Man what a album! Ring the bells - I'm on a Island - Got to get 1st plane home - Where have good times gone - world keeps goin round - were my favorites - what a shame none of these songs got any attention at the time (and to this day) great album

This is where Ray found a more distinctive sound. The songs are quieter and resemble the sound of "A Well Respected Man." A great album with alot of strong tunes such as "The World Keeps Going Round", "Till The End of The Day", "I''m on An Island", and " You Can''t Win."

I bought this CD expecting to like it only because I'm a huge fan. I read that this album was rushed out as the band was touring the world on the typical 60s rock band treadmill. I expected to find a bunch of blues rip off originals much like many English bands were doing at the time, Well I was suprised to find myself playing this disc over and over due to the many infectious melodies that I kept wanting to hear; Ring the Bells, Plane Home, Girl of Mine, End of the Day, Island. Good Times Gone, what a record!
