Comments for Kinks, the, To The Bone

Note that the double-cd (American?) release doesn't have Waterloo Sunset or Autumn Almanac, both done `unplugged' here. Another case of having to duplicate purchases to get all the Kinks' releases. Good thing I have both :) God save the Kinks!

The US version of this album has a ton more stuff on it, including a great (and rather appropriate) version of I'm Not Like Everybody Else

The best (official) live album ever made by the Kinks, very good sound quality.

Thank God! I'm the proud owner of both releases. They were both available here in Vienna/Austria. My favourite track is 'GALLON OF GAS'. I've never heard anything similar from them before. Great track. I also love the two new studio-rec's 'Animal' and 'To The Bone' (fantastic guitar sound). The 'Celluloid Heroes' version is like the studio cut from 1972. I prefer the one which was taken "on the road". The solo on 'All Day' is one of Dave's best. Thank you!

A reintroduction to the magic of the music of the Kinks could not be better, for those of us who lost some track of them through the last few years. A "niner" rating is definitely proper, although, if I could it would probably merit a "9.3" to me. Many fine renditions, my favorites are "better things" and "don''t forget to dance." IMHO.
