Comments for Kiss, Creatures of the night

ACE never even played on this album. Vinnie Vincent did the guitar work, Ace got the credit. True KISS fans know who played on the album, but some at the time did not. VERY underrated album. The heaviest drums of any of the KISS albums. Gene put in over time in the studio to get this drum sound. They re-released this album a few years later. It was remixed to drop out some of the drums. The re-release had a new cover showing Bruce with the band. KInda funny, actually. Two different gutarists have been pictured on this album and neither one played on it. Very similar in sound to Lick It Up, the next KISS album released.

this is the best KISS album made. i know that it isn't one of the classic ones of the 70's, but this is the heaviest album that they have ever done. the orignal cover is so eerie. this album is too dark and too heavy to be ignored. it was the last one that they did in make-up and it definitey did it justice. it's sad that they didn't tour the states after the release of this album. it was KISS at their heaviest.

The last makeup album for the band was also their most underrated album and by far one of their absolute best. IT''s just a shame this came out at bad timing when Ace was leaving the band and they had just gone thru the disco tunes Dynasty, Unmasked and the "Concept" album Music From the Elder. So, noone would expect such a kick ass rock album. First off, this starts off with some awesome drum sound. ERic Carr is in top form throughout. Check out his drumming on "I Love it Loud" to get an impression. Also, Gene and Paul are graced with some of the best songs in their career as the title track, "Saint and Sinner", "War Machine", and "Danger". And not to mention, Paul''s best ballad ever, "I Still Love you". Various guitartists from Ace to Vinnie Vincent to Robben Ford to Bob Kulick appear on the album but all deliver the guitar goods. Creatures is also unique for having one of the best KISS covers, (the original one with Gene, Paul, Ace and Eric) and one of the absoulte worst covers (the later one unmasked with Gene, Paul, Bruce and Eric). Since Mercury has rerelased the vinyl with the original killer cover on vinyl, and a Creatures remaster with the original cover is due to come out soon, it''s time for this album to be rediscovered again.
Itīs the last album playing with masks and itīs the lastalbum with Ace.

Woefully overated album. However, most Kiss fans will swear it was Destroyer II....This is the first site I have visited where it is rated appropriately, IMO.
