Comments for Kraftwerk, Computer World

When I first heard this album, I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I found it even harder to believe that this record was over ten years old!!! It's an understated masterpiece - a blueprint for all the current stuff that masquerades as "techno". Not that I don't like the new stuff - much of it is excellent - its just that Kraftwerk made it MUSIC. That is enough in itself. A truly brilliant recording of synthesized "soul" music.

This is an amazing album. I had previously only heard The Mix, and I was a little wary of how an album created at the beginning of the '80s would be able to compare, but I like some of the original versions better. If you like synthesizer music and want to discover the roots of techno, go for Kraftwerk.

Truly a perfect album. The msuic critics who who cite this as the cradle of electropopo and trance are right up to a point but this album has subtlety of tine abnd orchestration combined wth a sense of theatre. The aching sadness of Computer Love is a firm reminder of how you cna have emotion and elctroics in one album.

For everybody who understands German, I strongly recommend the German version. Especially for the title song where the lyrics of the English verison are 2 lines *4 instead of 8 lines.
The first all synth/electronic album I heard.
This album shaped the entire internet generation! Just listen to 'Computer Love' no one even thought of relationships over a computer. 'Computer World' shows Communication, Entertainment, Travel, and more. No one but Kraftwerk could have told the future of Computers any better. This album is truley great, as with almost any Kraftwerk album!

Simplistic melodies combined with a group who simply cant sing create no challenge to established artists of the genre.Their german counterparts Tangerine Dream give far better value for money.
