Comments for Living Colour, Stain

Why aren't there any comments on this album, or any of the living colour albums, for that matter? Living Colour are (were) a kick ass band, and surely must have had more fans than this database indicates. Anyway, this album, while not being their best, is certainly one of my favourites. The tracks 'postman', 'mind your own business' and ' auslander' are perfect examples of excellent songwriting skills, and of course the musicianship across the entire album is without compare (unless we are talking soundgarden here). I've seen quite a few international acts through the years (Bob Dylan, ALice in Chains, Soundgarden, Suicidal Tendencies, You Am I and Aerosmith to name a few), and I must say that living colour are far and away the best live act I've ever seen. Their energy was contagious, and their skill with their instruments was a sight to behold. So here's to hoping that some people might get off their asses and write some stuff here, because the living colour homepage isn't much to speak of.

"Stain" is a more focused and aggressive album than it's predesessors. Darker themes and more personal issues are revealed. This angry, powerful and turbulent album bears the signiture of four spectacular musicians. I was (and am) deeply disappointed by news of their demise.

I don't know what is better. The music skills of Living Colour or the really deep songtexts they write. Living Colour are far from some dumb irritating shallow commercial pop-rock nerds, who think they can make money over the principles of other people. Their music beats allmost every rockgroup I know and if you wouldn't know better you would think that the lyrics came straight out of the HIP-HOP scene. This incredible combination creates one of the most powerfull music I know.

I think that Stain was definetely Living Colour's best ROCKING album ever (Time's Up was the best literary one and Vivid had the "MTV" sound to it). Personally, I thnk Stain is LC's best and it's a shame it didn't go platinum or gold like Living Colour's past efforts.

LIVING COLOUR is by far one of the best bands in history! I've been a fan since the beginning, and seen them twice on tour. I can't begin to describe the amount of energy this band has. The show they put on is nothing short of a "10". Every record has talent pouring out of it. I almost went into some sort of shock when I heard they were no longer. Living Colour is such a solid band they deserve to be reconized by everyone jumping on band wagon. You know what I mean: Smashing Pumpkins this, Bush that, No Doubt is the best and so forth. WAKE UP America, LIVING COLOUR covered every form of music known to modern man! THEY deserve ALL the credit these bands are getting and then some. Try to put a label on this band--you can't, they do it all-on every album. Their music is so powerful and strong you can't even compare them to anyone else. They stand alone and at the top in my book. Put down all of the new trends and go out and buy one of the albums with the LIVING COLOUR name on it, you'll be blown away! Take a look around and see how many groups are feeding off this music, many a band I'm sure. I own ALL of their material from singles to imports. Trust me, this is where it's at. I can only hope they return soon to put out another monster. Great albums are hard to come by, but LIVING COLOUR defines the term.

Although STAIN is not my favorite Living Color album, I still dug it...you can't tell me those brothers didn't rock! Nothingness is my favorite track because it speaks to a certain place that is inside us all...That's cool shit!

I've been a fan of Living Colour since the start. I feel I missed out on some great opportunities, not living in the US (I live in Scotland) But I saw them each time they came over to the UK. I have never seen a band with such live energy. Their music is something which will never be matched in my opinion and there will ALWAYS be a place in my life for them. I would love to know what Muzz Skillings is up to these days, does anyone know? If they do then please E Mail me with the info. Since I have entered this E Mail to the "Stain" section, I'd best comment upon the album. What can I say? Another album which far exceeded my expectations by any level. I only wish they could do one more tour. Thanks guys for the music you gave us.

The Stain album is one of the best hard-rock that i''ve heard. The most important thing about this album is that they succesfully mixed the technique (as only they can do) and feeling, which is something a lot of bands are unable to do. As a bass player, i was in shock for about a week when i heard it, i couldn''t get away from that cd for over a month. This CD should be in everyone''s list, or at least or the people that can appreciate well done music. A hundred Thumbs up!!!
This album is a lot heavier than the albums Vivid and Time`s Up. "Stain" is a lot more metal.
