Comments for Low, the curtain hits the castE-MAIL: gruisinger@cctr.umkc.edu This is Low's finest work to date. Imagine drifting of to death floating on warm saltwater inside a sensory-deprivation tank. Never has starkness had such a comfortable feel--so cozy and inviting. Were you ever so tired you laid down in the snow, and it felt so good you just wanted to fall asleep there--but you didn't because you knew you might not wake up? This album is capable of evoking that same feeling. I also highly reccomend the two EPs associated with this album: Finally... (4 tracks)& Over the Ocean (3 tracks).E-MAIL: 105214.2333@compuserve.com Truly a thing of beauty. Sparse, hypnotic, haunting... suitable for listening in a dark room alone and meditative.E-MAIL: fairall@server.uwindsor.ca "The Curtain Hits The cast" is haunting, hypnotic and evocative, both musically ("Coattails," "Do You Know How To Waltz") and lyrically ("The Dark," "Same," "Mom Says"). Given that the bands premise is that they play their songs really slowly, you''d think that this stuff would be boring and monotonous but it''s actually very arresting.
