Comments for MERZBOW, Venereology

Not one of Merzbow's best releases of the last two years. Seems forced somehow. Much better recent releases are his collaborations with John Waterman and Consumer Electronics.

This CD was created with the a live Merzbow set-up with just Masami and Reiko, it was recorded just prior to Masami getting an EMS synth which has featured on several new releases, notably ''Green Wheels'' and the V2 double 10". ''Noizhead'' and ''Mort Aux Vache'' are 2 recent CD releases which also have this very harsh, Incapacitants like sound. The ''collaboration'' with Consumer Electronics is one of the most inferior releases to bear the Merzbow name.
