Comments for Madness, One Step Beyond...E-MAIL: awhitton@bnr.ca A really FUN album. Lots of echoing yelps, ska "chiggers" and fun lyrics. No deep messages here, just good fun! Chipmunks are Go! Alan WhittonE-MAIL: dkearney@dundee.ac.uk I think on this album the producers, Langer and Winstanley, tried to recreate the Madness live sound as it was at that time, and I think they succeeded. Compare the version of 'The Prince' on the album to the single released on 2-Tone. The album recording is definately much more raw and has a 'live' sound to it. An excellent record.E-MAIL: P.P.Jobbins@tees.ac.uk Really good album, shame that Baggy Trousers isnt on it. However, Divine Madness is a better betE-MAIL: Drew.Lettington@SanDiegoCA.ATTGIS.com Of course, Baggy Trousers can be found on the album Baggy Trousers -- an excellent album in its own way. Thinking back, it's hard to believe that when One Step Beyond came out, most of my high school buddies were listening to AC/DC, Kansas and Ted Nugent.E-MAIL: rlb@dana.ucc.nau.edu The last track isn't listed on my cd, either... but never the less, a very fun album. If you're really into Madness... check out the box set, "The Business." Contains nearly all the B-sides and interviews and other nneat stuff!E-MAIL: v061md3j One of the most underrated pop/party albums of all time. The album soars from track to track with youthful energy. A must for any collection!E-MAIL: mitchell@scott.net One of my all time favorite albums. This album is one of the best SKA!!! albums I''ve heard. This is a must for all skins to have. Madness` first album. Great stuff - tight playing, fundancy stuff. Not as poppy as later stuff like "Our House",more ska-like. It might be my favorite album of theirs. For some reason, the last track, "Madness", isn`t listed onmy disc.Comments supplied by users do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Roadkill Consulting, Inc. |
