Comments for Mann, Aimee, i'm WiTH StuPidE-MAIL: fairall@server.uwindsdor.ca Some very good songs here - That's just What You Are, Long Shot, Superball - but it lacks the warmth "Welcome Home" and "Whatever." Still, a fine album.E-MAIL: ned.hibberd@reporters.net I'm not familiar with any of Aimee's other work but I heartily recommend this album. What sounds quirky at first listen eventually assimilates into a solid well-written musical flow. And it's the quirks that keep it interesting. Mann's voice can be soothing or tempestuous. Background vocals are lush and spot-on. Instrumentation is unusual at times, but appropriate. Altogether, this is a keeper.E-MAIL: rein0065@frank.mtsu.edu Mann teaches an important lesson: You don't have to scream to be an angry woman in rock. A beautiful, funny, passionate, addictive album. This is one that I pull out when I'm tired of everything else. Definitely check this one out.E-MAIL: ckd20@hermes.cam.ac.uk E-MAIL: ckd20@hermes.cam.ac.uk Definitely a fantastic album. I take it everywhere. Aimee Mann is a brilliant lyricist and has a beautiful voice. It's a travesty that her record label has treated her so badly over the years. For anyone interested in her third (long overdue) album, she has bought it back from the record company and will sell it through her website: www.aimeemann.com.E-MAIL: wayne@sleeve.com Aimee Mann is the hero of anyone that has ever had their heart broken. She's honest to the point of tears, and all of her records are passionate, and well written. I just got the EP limited edition "Bachelor No. 2" and the song "Red Vines" is in my opinion the best song she's written to date. Anyone that hasn't purchased her entire catalog, is cheating themself.E-MAIL: JLJIRA@AOL.COM PURE EXCELLENCE! PURE AIMEE!E-MAIL: poet062@excite.com I have listened to all of Aimee's albums, but this is not just Aimee's best album, this is one of the best albums I've ever heard.E-MAIL: blw@kersur.net Once again, she proves herself to be one of the finest songwriters of our time. Buy all of her CD's and prepare to be moved by what you will hear. Anyone that loves music will be seriously touched by her abilities as an artist.E-MAIL: delfino1@bellsouth.net since i'm a tad late familiarizing myself with this whole computer "thing", i've just recently had access to aimee's site. BACHELOR NO. 2, for me at least is by far her strongest work to date; but since this is supposed to be space designated for a quick review of her second solo offering...../I'M WITH STUPID was a record that i literally lived inside of for too many months. as cliched as it may sound, the album was essentially a soundtrack to some personal drama (bullshit:-) i was dealing with at the time, yet it still resonates with me listening to it today. THAT is a sure sign of an amazing record. lyrically, my personal favorite is "frankenstein", for several reasons, and the standout track for me, and the one that still can manage to make me absolutely fucking lose it emotionally is "ray". aimee mann is untouchable.E-MAIL: allisfullofdan@aol.com This album is brilliant. It lacks the kitsch (cheesiness) of the dated "Whatever", and is much more listenable than the aforementioned album, which tends to get on my nerves at times. "I''m With Stupid" is much better produced, and all around more alive than "Whatever". Aimee is a wonderful songwriter, and I can''t wait till "Bachelor # 2" comes out in stores! Aimee Mann`s second solo album featuring the single "Choice in the Matter." Strong lyrics and some strong language. Appearances by Juliana Hatfield, Michael Penn and Difford & Tilbrook of Squeezefame.Comments supplied by users do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Roadkill Consulting, Inc. |
