Comments for Masters of Reality, Welcome To The Western Lodge

I'm not sure what I think about this. My favorite track is Baby Mae with Googe on bass and Victor Indrizzo on drums. Other than this one track the only credits are Chris Goss and John Leamy for all instruments. The featured effect seems to be tremolo. There is a lot of Fuzz Face type guitar. I am up in the air as to what I think. The vocals are still strange and wonderful. They are on tour in Europe. Does anyone out there know if Googe is still with the band? And Brendon McNichol? I am a HUGE Masters of Reality fan but I feel a little upset about this CD. Only 38 minutes of music and such a long wait.

quite a cool album, really fat songs. more rockin. songs like "it's shit" / "moriah" / "the great spelunker" or "why the fly" simply rule!!!! 38min is a bit short, but better short and amazing than long and boring... check it out!!!

I must admit it is growing on me, but 38 minutes is really just a taste. I like the KCRW version of "The Great Spelunker" better. Give it a listen at www.liveconcerts.com

Heavy, dark, strange. Lots of keyboards. Vocal effects. After a dozen listenings it has grown on me more and more. Milkboy Waltz and Baby Mae hang in my mind. Too short. Googe is on hiatus with his family. Brendon is on tour with the band in Europe. I would drive 500 miles to see them. They are the best band in existance.

i finally got my copy of "welcome to the western lodge" a few days ago and once again the masters have blown me away. chris goss keeps the band and its sounds evolving. i hope googe is still with the band and i''m curious to find out if there is anything else out there that they recorded. i am happy to say that i now have all of their albums(except the original def jam release of the blue garden). i would be more than happy to complete my collection by getting the live set from the kcrw morning show on cd. if anyone has it or can tell me how to download it, please let me know.
Departure from the earlier Masters style but well worth the wait.
