Comments for Mazzy Star, Among My Swan

This album is breath of fresh air living in the 90's. there is more strumming of the guitar and harmonica playing on this album then the others. I think this is the best one yet (I've only had it for a day). It is the most accessible and listenable of the three so far. The production is a little better then the others (I think). It isn't as isolating. Shimmering with beauty. Every song is as good as the best ones off of the other albums. There is not one bad song (and there are some great pictures of the band). DOn't listen to the bad reviews, they just aren't true.

I mostly agree with the above comment. If you are a MS fan, then this album is a must. After repeated listenings, I'm convinced this is their best album so far. Find it hard to believe how they can top this. Their first album was in a popish vein so they could go back to that style, I don't know? Among My Swan is definitely an extension of the second album, but better. Some song arrangements are quite innovative, yet maintain the MS "sound".

I can''t say that I much cared for this album, I thought the other 2 mazzy star albums were considerably better.. oh well.. perhaps it''s just not grown on me yet. =)

I did agree with the last negative comment at first listen. After a few more listens I soon realized that this was the perfect Mazzy Star record. Don't listen to bad reviews. This cd is dreamy, blissfully sad, deep and beautiful. It is my drug and in my soul.
