Comments for Megadeth, Hidden Treasures

This is a grab-bag of stuff from soundtracks and "tribute" albums. The only new one here is "Problems" an excellent reworking of the Sex Pistol original. Also excellent are Megadeth originals "Breakpoint" and "Angry Again." Two others covers "Paranoid" and "No more Mister Nice Guy" are quite good. The other stuff is filler. These guys could use some better management, considering the disasterous film soundtracks that many of these songs appeared on. And what's the deal with "The Beavis and Butthead Experience?" Come on guys, that gives metal a bad name.

This is a real cool album. It's got some great songs on it, essential to anyone who likes the band. The highlights are Angry Again, 99 Ways to Die, Paranoid, Go to Hell, and Diadems. Those are the heaviest of the album. And to the kid before me: I wouldn't call those movie soundtracks 'disastrous,' considering that they are some of the most popular and highest grossing soundtracks in the last few years. And the songs on those soundtracks are some of the most successful Megadeth songs ever, acclaimed by critics, fans, and radio. In fact, each one of them, with the exception of Diadems was nominated for a Grammy award.

Exactly who cares if the songs were acclaimed by critics and nominated for grammies, Angry Again still sucks.

So it took that bitch Mustaine 7 years to copy ''Tallica this time. Last time it only took a couple of months when he stole the idea of reciting the "...Now I lay me down to sleep..." prayer from "Enter Sandman" and put in a shit song like "Go To Hell". What the fuck is that drummer playing. The bass was the only good part!

Bonus Tracks are originally from the "A Tout Le Monde" single. No More Mr. Nice Guy is by Alice Cooper. "Breakpoint" is a Countdown to Extiction b-side. "Go To Hell"is from the Bill and Ted`s Bogus Journey soundtrack. "AngryAgain" is from the Last Action Hero soundtrack. "99 Ways to Die" is from the Beavis and Butthead Experience CD."Paranoid" is by Black Sabbath. "Diadems" is from the DemonKnight soundtrack.
