Comments for Midnight Oil, Diesel And DustE-MAIL: tjkgspk@ucl.ac.uk This is the album which really brought the Oils to the attention of the British. It marks a turning point in their style from the more ballsy approach of their earlier albums such as Head Injuries, A must for anyone serious about listening to some great music which is really difficult to pigeon-holeE-MAIL: eauhomme@aa.net Midnight Oil reached the US with this album and the song "Beds are Burning," which despite very simple lyrics, is a powerful piece. That tribute to the Aboriginal struggles around Ayers'' Rock, as well as "The Dead Heart," "Warakurna," and "Dreamworld" make this one of my all-time favorites. Not as raw as "Head Injuries," not as polished as "Blue Sky Mining," not as experimental as "Red Sails in the Sunset." The perfect mix of Oil and Music.Comments supplied by users do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Roadkill Consulting, Inc. |
