This is Mike Watt`s first solo effort. He was with Minutemenand fIREHOSE previously. This album has about 50 "guests" onit, some famous (most), some unknown. The 2 surviving members of Nirvana, Eddie Vedder, Dave Pirner J. Mascis (Dinosaur Jr.),Flea, Adam Horovitz, Frank Black, Thurston Moore, lots more!!The album isn`t grunge or the "A" word, it has more in commonwith Frank Zappa than it does with any music I know of by Mikeor any of the guest`s bands. Every song is a different lineupof musicians. The cover of "Maggot Brain" is great! Mike isa bass player, this is HIS solo album, and here is J. Mascispulling off a 15 minute guitar jam! Mike has a keen wit thatshows on many tracks. A very wide range of music style fromsong to song.Great album/disc. Get it soon, the Cool cd and album packaging is surely limited.
