Comments for Moore, Gary, Blues for GreenyE-MAIL: bischoff@ng-wj.dfn.de This is unexspectedly the worst covering of music I ever heard. Nearly all of the songs sound like the originals of Peter Green, note by note. There is no space for an interpretation of the music of Peter Green but simple covering. I prefer the originals played by Green himself. As an alternative. just to see, how artist do their own, I suggest the tribute album "Peter Green Songbook" from the Viceroy labelE-MAIL: herbert.zach@telecom.at Gary Moore can play each kind of music and he showed it. He can play hard-rock, ballads and blues. And he is a perfect guitar-player in each kind of musicE-MAIL: 100277,3413@compuserve.com This album really honnors Peter Green. Gary is playing the songs as they are. To me he didn''t perform any inprovisation on any of the songs and I think for a guitar player like Gary who is at it''s best when he can improvisize (Blues Alive Album) this was not easy to do. This album therefore honors Peter Green even more. I play guitar myself and not being a virtuose, I mean I have difficulties playing songs of other people, I am quiet good at improvising and blues to me is a style where improvisation makes it all mush better. For his third blues album, Gary has decided to honor one of his heroes: Peter Green. When Skid Row opened for Fleetwood Mac in Gary`s native Ireland, Peter Green was impressed enough with Gary to ask him to join him in his hotel room after the show for a jam. Thanks to Peter, Skid Row got their first record deal. Today Gary Moore owns the Les Paul that Peter Green played that very night. And that`s the guitar you can hear on the album! This tribute reminds us what a great guitar player Peter Green was and reminds us that Gary Moore is still one of the best.Comments supplied by users do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Roadkill Consulting, Inc. |
