Comments for Morgan, Lorrie, Greatest Hits

The label for this album is BNA Records. Like many recordings, it was released under license for BMG, but BMG is not a record label, it is just a brokerage house for recordings (hope no one is insulted, but have a personal friend who works for BNA, and he gets insulted when BMG is called a record label. The BNA Records album no. is BNA07863-66508-2

Absolutely wonderful collection of heartfelt and catchy modern country songs from Lorrie Morgan, from 1988 and "Five Minutes" to the new songs like "I Didn''t Know My Own Strength". This latter song is one of the best she''s ever done, with a significantly personal message, and bluegrassy fiddles on the line-dancey arrangement. Down-home country fun, and the ballads like "Dear Me" and her duet with late husband Keith Whitley are astonishingly beautiful. Lorrie''s country-tailored voice has a lot of capabilities. Unfortunately, a couple of Lorrie''s biggest hits were left off: "I Guess You Had To Be There" from WATCH ME in 1992 and "If You Came Back From Heaven" from the 1994 album WAR PAINT. In fact, nothing from WAR PAINT appears on GREATEST HITS. Still, a near 10/10 collection, with enjoyment all the way through.
