Comments for Moxy Fruvous, Bargainville

Agree completely with previous comments, however, in the intervening period, Moxy has shown that acapella is only one facet of their style. They are all tremendous musicians. They began as a mostly vocal group to avoid arguments over who would play what instrument! In late June 1995 Moxy Fruvous released their second album "Wood". It is darker in nature, and more complex musically and thematically. It is not as accessible as "Bargainville", but is well worth the listening time it takes to appreciate it

This album rocks my world. I will never tire of singing and dancing along with it.

OK, Cicero, I guess I''ll have to give "Wood" another listen. I was so excited to find a copy of the CD (I live in the U.S., where this album was never released). I listened to it twice, and I hated it both times. My only thought was, hey, these guys used to be FUN! "Bargainville" is one of my favorites of all time. Is it true that the guy who does lead vocals on "Video Bargainville" improvs them everytime they perform the song in concert?
The first full-length release from this Torontoniansemi-a-cappella band. Must be seen live for full effect, since these folks are drop-dead hilarious in concert. The album here makes more use of instruments, and doesn`tquite have the same improvisational flavor of theirlive stuff, but is still well worth a listen, especiallyif you`re out of their usual Canadian touring range. For more info, write to: 1436 Queen St. West/ P.O Box 90005/Toronto, Ontario, Canada/ M6K 1M2
