Comments for Moyet, Alison, AlfE-MAIL: snich@xtra.co.nz Later pressings of the LP version (in New Zealand at least) included "That Ole Devil Called Love" and (I believe) a slightly remixed "For You Only". I have never found a CD equivalent of the repressing.E-MAIL: david ryan@inst.riba.org Alison Moyet: ALF Few could forget the summer of June 1984 and the first single from la Moyet. The stunning "Love Resurrection who else put Holly Johnson of the then "Frankie Goes to Hollywod" could sum up better the effect the gifted singer/songwriter had when he said " Love Resurrection touched me in parts I never knew exsisted" The album was co-written and produced by Tony Swain and Steve Jolley who had been responsible for amongst others Bananarama and Spandu Ballet''s biggest hit records. This time Alison was writing all the lyrics, with Swain and Jolley co-writing the music and overseeing the production. The record company (then CBS) must have been overwhelmed with the finished record. For the record sold millions and established Alison quite righty in my opinion as the UK best female singer which 10 ten later I beleive she still is!!! The album Alf produced many hits including: Love Resurrection For you Only Invisible All Cried Out The album Alf will always remain a classic a serves to remind us all of the sheer talent of the magnificant and gifted Alison Moyet. A great voice performing a great albumComments supplied by users do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Roadkill Consulting, Inc. |
