Comments for Neville Brothers, The, Family Groove

My copy of Family Groove (A&M7502-15384-2) does not include cut #14 Good Song. I wonder if this is the same tune as 'Everbody Needs a Good Song' performed by Charmaine Neville Band with Reggie Houston & Amasa Miller on their album 'It's About Time' (Gert Town GT-1111).

I hear the record was produced by a Santa Monica, California hot shot who was determined to record songs that were written by his friends. It is why the album had such lame songs such as "Day to Day Thing". He screwed up Art''s song "Line of Fire". Although the Nevilles used to play a funky version of "Fly Like an Eagle" in their early years 1977-1979, He managed to ruin that song too. The only positive thing about it, is that "Let My People Go" became a strong part of the Nevilles live set in 1993. Even though, "Let My People Go" was written by a bunch of California guys who know nothing of the Funk. Why don''t the Nevilles get Don Was or George Clinton to produce?
