hey! let's not be too hard on this album. it is definitely less polished than "nevermind", but still quite enjoyable. anyone hear the bonus track on the import version of this album? i believe the title is, "gallons of rubbing alcohol flow thru the strip". reminiscent of the doors! -scott morano

Kurt's killing himself had nothing to do with whether or not this (or any) of their CDs were good or not. It was the lyrics and the music and feeling it gave you to listen to it. It was a tragedy that he took his life, but i dont think it did anything to his music. Just because he got 40 bazillion hours of air-time on MTV because of it means nothing. so they wanted to profit from his death.. big deal. They suck anyway.

What a great album. The big surprize on it for me was the guitar playing: it was pretty timid and just restated the melody on Nevermind. Still, it's no tragedy that the guy died. He's just some famous schmuck. And he did it himself. The tragedy is that we have to hear people moaning all the time about what a tragedy it is and what a saint he was. Teens of today worshipping the clown, how pathetic. You youngsters are as bad as the hippies.

It's not very often that you get an album that really conveys feeling like this one does. His music really spoke to me personally, and it is a shame that he felt that his life was so bad that he had to take it. Any open minded person who has accually listened to Nirvana would agree that Kurt was the one of the, if not the most musically talented people to come around in years. I have to admit that I don't listen to much nirvana, but frances farmer and heart shaped box are very good songs. too bad he died. I would have been interested in what they recorded next. the foo fighters seem just a little too poppy

Fuck you all off!!This is a great album,the real second best I've ever heard!There couldn't possible be anoher Nevermind,and Kurt would have to try real hard to do so. BMX,I agree you in some aspects,but hey,I only get acknowledge with Nirvana after Kurt's dead,and this a real major bore to me.You know,I really really would to like to have know this guys when they started,but now what's left for me is to think around past and get whatever I can about this guy who was no fucking god,was a troubled,sensitive man in search for understandment and help.He felt the weight of things that perhaps didn't even matter he,but that was never his point of view.He know that he couldn't keep fooling himself by fooling his fans,fans this one wich he doubted their true likings.

Their best album. Scentless Apprentice is the best song on it. Serve The Servants is great to. Well rounded CD. To all the people bad mouthing Kurt, read Come As You Are and you'll see his life in a different light.

i just wanted to say this is a great album,almost as good as INCESTICIDE.I just want to say i suggest those of you who haven't heard GALLONS OF RUBBING ALCHOL FLOW THROUGH THE STRIP, go out and buy the import or a bootleg with GALLONS... it is worth the price of the bootlegs.

In Utero is a landscape or rubble that somehow also managesto rise from its own ashes. Whatever else has or has not been said about Cobain and Nirvana, both have remainedtrue to their sickness. Therein lies the beauty of songslike All Apologies and Frances Farmer. Contradictions.

I don't dislike Pearl Jam because I'm a Nirvana fan. I dislike them because their music is boring. Nirvana rules, Nevermind and In Utero are equally good to me, as is their Unplugged album.

the songs may be less polished than on 'nevermind' but that is the backbone of grunge: raw, aggressive material. This album is a stunning piece of craftsmanship. 'Nevermind' was sacarine pop bollocks, this is nirvana at their very best. Hey! this is music at its very best. the lyrical content is far more subtle (an art in which cobain was a master), so instead of writing half-hearted abashed ditties on 'our generation X' Cobain uses less obvious techniques. To put it simply: if you know anything about nirvana, rock music or music in general you will agree with me that 'In Utero' is possibly the greatest albums of the 1990's, if not ever.
