This is classic new wave. If you're young and always wondered where it's all defined and laid down, here it is. I play this album, daily, it's great. A work of art in the pop music idiom. Genius!

Many rock stations offer lunchtime specials called "The Perfect Album Side". If they really wanted to see THE perfect album side they need to listen to side one of The B-52''s. Not that side two isn''t good also, but side one is an all-time classic. From the beeping fade in of "Planet Claire", right through Kate Pierson''s last shriek on "Rock Lobster", it is absolutely as tight as can be, and a crown jewel of american music.
