Dark, tense; Numan has ditched the funk-pop and the extra musicians, gone into a room by himself and created his best and most complex album yet. His waning popularity even in his homeland has pushed him to dig deeper into the shadows of his art; this album is proof that sometimes the greatest art comes from an artist who has little to lose. Excellent album - composed, performed, mixed and engineered by Gary Numan.

Indeed sometimes "Less" is more. Gaz strips down to the basics and as the black and white cover indicates this is a very insular album. A Dark and mellow feel to it but certainly not a 'Gothic' brood. Numan seems revived on this disc and one lok at the production creditsa you can see why, from writing, performing mixing to engineering. Gary Numan was close to a one man band on 'Sacrifice'
